GLASS PAINTING - STEPS

GLASS PAINTING
This is a solvent glass painting. It’s very simple to do.

MATERIALS REQUIRED:
1. A plain glass {whichever size you need}
2. Solvent glass paint {available in stationary & craft shops}
3. Glass liner {Mostly it is available with the paint box itself}
4. Picture to paint {You can draw out of your own or Xerox your design}

METHOD:
1. First take the glass, wipe with plain water or with nail polish remover & air dry it.
2. Now keep the design picture under the glass & stick with the cello tape in corners so that the picture won’t move while we draw.
3. Then draw the outlines with the glass liner & allow it to dry for 30 minutes.
4. If you made some mistakes while drawing the outline do not try to wipe immediately it’ll spoil the whole thing. So you can cut the error part only after the liner dries out.
5. After it dries up you can fill the colors directly on to the glass.
6. Thing you should note is that you should fill the glass paint without any bubbles. If bubbles comes try to remove it with any sharp material or a dry painting brush.
7. Now allow the painting to dry for 24 hours.
8. Now the painting is ready to use you can frame it & give as gift or decorate your own home or room.

TIPS:
1. I’ve shown you some of my own glass paints
2. You can also make a photo frame using this
3. You can also use fabric paints with glass paints to get more textures. Here I painted the photo frame using both glass & fabric metallic shades.
4. You can also give mixed color effects.
5. Can use crushed aluminum foil at the back before framing that will give you a metallic effect.
